The folks at TravelBird conducted an interesting ranking the most #Hashtagged tourist attractions on Instagram in the US and worldwide.

Whether you’re a professional or simply a person with a hobby and a camera, these are places you absolutely have to visit to up your travel photography game. While the likes of Disney and Times Square made the list, we at Ecophiles decided to take a look at the more natural landscapes for your green travel and photography interests. Here’s looking at some serious Insta-envy!

South Beach, Florida, USA

A well-known neighborhood in the heart of Miami, Florida, South Beach is one of those places you simply have to go. From plenty of room to relax in the midday sun to bustling night life, travel here for a relaxing time and great photography. Enjoy one of the countless entertainments hubs – from delectable restaurants to fabulous night clubs. Mardi Gras, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA

Rolling in at number 11 and French for “Fat Tuesday”, Mardi Gras is another must-do for your travel bucket list. Celebrated before Lent as a way to enjoy feasting prior to fasting, this carnival is a time of fun for all. Stunning costumes, floats, entertainment – this festival is made for great photography! Spanning 3 states in America but mostly located in Wyoming, Yellowstone National Park was the first national park of its kind in the country, and often said, the world. Travel here for the geyser Old Faithful and stay for the wildlife and stunning landscapes. With an array of ecosystems different sections provide completely different experiences, making exploring a standalone event. This lovely national park is slated at numbers 31 and 32, each in a different state.

A treasure from down under at number 39, this national park spans spaces in the most beautiful ways. Lush rainfall makes the environment sprout forth a delicate yet gorgeous ecosystem, complete with unique plants and animals. Bring binoculars for bird watching, a camera to capture each unique moment, and your hiking boots, to explore every mountain and valley this park has to offer. Established before the idea of a national park was even a concept, Hot Springs National Park is a treasure that deserves protection at number 44 on the list. Believed to have medicinal properties, the hot water of the springs is seen as sacred by many groups of people. Considered one of the most accessible national parks, one can hike, camp, and even bathe in the springs.

Stonehenge, UK

A historic monument that calls England home, this location comes in at 52 and still brings questions to archeologists and historians alike up to this very day. With each stone weighing about 25 tons and spanning 13 feet high and nearly 7 feet wide, this is a travel experience you won’t forget. Also, great for travel photography!

Lake Maggiore, Switzerland and Italy

Divided between Italy and Switzerland, this gorgeous lake is on the southern side of the Alps. With 40 miles of shimmering water to photograph, every inch will prove just as breathtaking as the last.
