The National Parks are coming to IMAX 3D. MacGillivray Freeman’s film National Parks Adventure is scheduled for release on February 12, 2016 across the globe to coincide with the centennial of the National Park Service next year.

Narrated by Academy Award winner Robert Redford, National Parks Adventure takes audiences on the ultimate off-trail adventure into the nation’s awe-inspiring great outdoors and untamed wilderness. Told from the perspective of modern-day explorers visiting spectacularly wild and beautiful places – including Yellowstone, the Everglades, the Redwoods, and Arches — the film hopes to inspire the adventurer in all of us, and get travelers worldwide to make this journey.

Captured with IMAX 3D cameras and shown in full glory on the world’s largest screens, National Parks Adventure celebrates the majesty of these treasured landscapes and highlights the importance of protecting them for all.

The film follows in the tradition of MacGillivray Freeman’s award-winning Great Adventure Films – including Everest, Dolphins, To the Arctic – that are set in some of the most extraordinary locations on the planet.

While simultaneously shooting National Parks Adventure, MacGillivray Freeman produced an eight-part TV series for Travel Channel. America. The Beautiful, airing on that network beginning August, is also narrated by Robert Redford.
