A short but very comprehensive tour to the “navel of the earth”. A concise guided tour that includes: a visit to the archaeological site, a wonderful hike in the ancient footpath in the fir forested foothills of Mt Parnasus to Delphi plus a visit to the village of Arachova famous for its traditional textiles. All this is one day!

Tour Details:

This is a historic and inspiring hike dropping down from the slopes of Mt Parnassos to the village of Delphi. It is the ancient footpath that took Pans worshippers up from the ancient temples of Delphi to the Corycean Grotto to celebrate rites, and it is part of the E4 European trail.

Due to time limitations, hikers will do part of the hike – the most beautiful one ending on top of the archaeological site. En route, you will enjoy a picnic with Greek local ingredients.

On arrival in Delphi, the Trekking Hellas professional guide will be waiting to take you on a tour of the Archaeological site and the museum. Afterwards, you will transfer to Arachova village for an early dinner in a Greek tavern.

Arachova is a mountain village, on the slope of Parnassos mountain, mainly built of stone houses, narrow streets and springs. Despite its huge tourist growth due to the ski resort, its heritage has been well preserved. The region is famous for its agriculture, cattle breeding and boasts some high quality products like olives and olive oil, tsipouro, formaella and feta cheese, yogurt, opsimotiri cheese, halvah, frumenty and noodles. Arachova is also famous for its handmade, pure woolen textiles, which are made using traditional looms and natural colours.
