This 11-day South Africa tour takes you to the iconic city of Cape Town, the rolling vineyards of the Franschhoek Valley, and premier wildlife destination Madikwe Game Reserve.
- Explore three iconic locations with this South Africa tour with JUMBARI Family Safaris
- You’ll visit Cape Town, Sun City, and Madikwe
A hotel, resort, and game lodge, which is family friendly and sustainable, and multiple meals.
After arriving at Cape Town International Airport, you will be collected by your driver and transferred to the Radisson Red hotel based at the famous V&A Waterfront in Cape Town.
See the sunset over Table Mountain from the roof of the hotel where you can have cocktails or smoothies and relax.
On day 3, enjoy a morning Cape Winelands Tour which is an absolute must do from 09.00 to 14.00. You will visit the beautiful Stellenbosch Franschhoek and Paarl. You will stop at Franschhoek, also regarded as the culinary capital of South Africa. This quaint French-inspired village is filled with beautiful street side cafés and eateries.
A meander down the main road will offer you the opportunity to explore some of the best galleries and boutiques, and a must visit is the De Villiers Chocolate tasting room.
You’ll then make your way to the final stop of the tour, Paarl. Discovering the Paarl wine region is what most visitors do here, and for good reason. The Paarl Wine Route is known for its full-bodied spicy reds and crisp whites. With wine tastings at 2 renowned estates in between all other activities and 1 wine cellar tour, you can gain a firm and fond sense of what the Cape Winelands is all about – where appreciation of fine wines is paired with nature, history and food.
Each tour and wine estate are handpicked, based on guest’s wine preferences and interests. During the tour, there will be snack packs on the vehicle for all members of the family.
The following day, your final day in Cape Town, you will have an afternoon 4×4 trip up Table Mountain, one of the new Seven Wonders of the World. This is a unique way to experience Table Mountain and tick this off your bucket list. Usually you will hike, bike or cableway up Table Mountain, but this is the only commercial 4×4 allowed to operate. You will stop on the way and have a picnic including cheeses, wines, charcuterie and a variety of spreads.
The rest of your time will be a leisure so you can experience all that Cape Town has to offer.
After a tasty breakfast at the hotel, your driver will collect you and transfer you to Cape Town International Airport. You will then board a scheduled flight to Johannesburg to the Lanseria Airport.
Once at the airport in Johannesburg, you will have a private transfer about 2 hours via Hartbeesport to the famous Sun City and check into the Cabanas at Sun City.
The newly refurbished Cabanas hotel is situated by the Waterworld Lake and is a great base to stay and experience all that Sun City has to offer from the golf course, the Spa, Valley of the Waves, Entertainment Centre, Kamp Kwena and many restaurants.
After spending 3 great nights at Sun City, your driver will collect you and transfer you to Madikwe Game Reserve, which is a road transfer, and this is where your safari begins. Madikwe is a malaria-free reserve, perfect for families.
Thakadu is tented suites where you can enjoy the comforts of modern living inside your tent in the bushveld as the lodge blends into the surroundings and has views of the river to the north.
This is no normal tented camp, as it offers luxury tents. This is a great wildlife safari camp with good service in a Big 5 reserve. The camp overlooks a riverine canopy with a river close by. This is on one of the top picks in Madikwe Game Reserve as the staff are friendly, there is great food, particularly at night in the Boma, and the location is fantastic.
Activities include two daily game drives in the Madikwe Game Reserve with experienced guides who are very informative and interpret and can go off road when they see animals. You can also partake in a walking safari.
After your early morning game drive, you will be collected and driven back to Johannesburg
International Airport for the end of your trip. You can book an extension if you would like to stay overnight in Johannesburg.
