Aerial photography captures our natural landscapes from a whole new perspective – captured by drones, this is nature photography at its most exhilarating . While we know that America is home to some of the world’s most spectacular landscapes, this photography captures the astounding beauty in such detail that it’s hard not to fall in love with our natural beauty all over again!
Moraine Lake, Banff, Canada
This beautiful photograph shows the expanse of the Moraine Lake in Banff, Canada. Banff is a resort town in the province of Alberta, located within Banff National Park. Moraine Lake is a glacially fed lake the park, 14 kilometres outside the village of Lake Louise. The peaks of the Rocky Mountains, which dominate the park’s skyline, are highlighted here. Stunning photography indeed!
Waioka Pond (Venus Pool), Maui
Hawaii is known for its enless ocean views, but to see this photography of the Waioka Pond, also known as the Venus Pool, in Maui gives an insight to what to expect if ever visiting the lovely islands. Waioka Pond is a deep brackish waterbody approximately 200′ long x 150′ wide x 30′ deep (in center) and a short hike off of the Hana Highway. Many locals and travel lovers come to experience this semi-remote area, and to go cliff diving and swimming here. This photography really captures the rugged landscape beautifully.
Mt Shuksan, Washington
The drone captures a shot of Mt Shuksan nearly shrouded in clouds in Washington. It is known as glaciated massif in the North Cascades National Park. At 9135ft, the mountain’s name Shuksan is derived from a Lummi word said to mean “high peak.” The highest point on the mountain is a three sided peak known as Summit Pyramid. Don’t you just love the mystic aura of the jagged alpine peak captured by aerial photography?
Haleakala Sunset, Maui
Experiencing sunsets this stunning can feel like a once in a lifetime chance. However, this photograph of the sun setting on the West Maui Mountains from about half way up Haleakala, located in The Haleakala National Park, helps us see how beautiful it can be. When you travel here, you’ll see endangered species here, some of which exist nowhere else in the world. Love how this vantage point takes the photography to a whole new level!
River in Maine
Rivers have a calm, but strong presence and this photo captures the river in Maine in all its serenity. Maine can happily boast of more than 5,000 rivers carved out by glaciers in the last Ice Age. Maine is known for its jagged, rocky coastline; low, rolling mountains; heavily forested interior, and picturesque waterways. This photograph of a lake in Maine, presumably Ambajejus, a name deriving from the original indigenous population of the state, is no exception. Truly stunning photography that captures the tranquil character of the landscape.
Hancock, New Hampshire
A breathtaking shot of a sunrise over Hancock, New Hampshire, with a coat of fog creeping its way into the scenery. Hancock is a quaint and historic community nestled in the Monadnock Region – and this particular instance of photography captures the dramatic colours of the landscape perfectly.
The Castle Gate Rock, Utah
Here’s a clear shot of Castle Gate Rock – the name was derived from a rock formation near the mouth of Price Canyon resembling the gates of a castle! This formation features two sheer sandstone walls on either side of the Price River, which seem to open like a giant gate as you approach this narrow section of the canyon.
The old town of Castle Gate, a mining town approximately 90 miles (140 km) southeast of Salt Lake City was located around this area. It has some interesting history, and an even better view! Love the dramatic beauty that aerial photography can capture!
Bixby Creek Bridge, California
Bixby Creek Bridge, also known as Bixby Bridge, is one of the most photographed bridges in California due to its aesthetic design, “graceful architecture and magnificent setting.” It is a reinforced concrete open-spandrel arch bridge. This high angled drone picture shows the bridge bathing in sunlight, with a stunning view of the ocean below it. Unforgettable photography indeed!
Delicate Arch, Grand County, Utah
The charm of this beautiful overhead shot taken by a drone is that it was before the National Parks banned unmanned aerial systems, making it a breathtaking rarity. In a park with over 2,000 stone arches, this particular arch has become a widely recognized symbol of the state of Utah and one of the most famous geological features in the world. The colours and vibrancy of the Delicate Arch really shows through in this photograph!
It’s easy to imagine a scenic drive on this road in Colorado, as the drone captures every detail and color of the trees and mountains. Colorado is notable for its diverse geography, ranging from alpine mountains, plains and deserts with huge sand dunes, deep canyons, sandstone and granite rock formations, as well as rivers, lakes, and lush forests. This is one of the many views that Colorado has to offer.
These beautiful shots capture nature at its finest. Love this photography story as much as we do? Why not share it on Facebook?
